As with most Military Brats, we had our time with “Butch,” during his dad’s tour at Camp Zama, Japan in 59-61. After we graduated we lost touch until 2002 wherein we all gathered at San Antonio, TX for the all class reunion. Like Harry, I did my 21 years of active service with the Navy, and wish him fair winds, following seas and all those good looking Ladies he was able to muster around him during his life…Ed Canell

Harry, We had our differences over the Air Land Battle study at Leavenworth in 84-85 but we parted friends. You were a true professional. God speed my friend and God bless your family.
Bob Wolz says
Harry was a proud veteran. He mentored me upon my retirement about the ways of the VA and the life of military retirement. I could never walk by Harry’s office without hearing a story about some place he served, food he ate, monkeys or about his buddies he served with; Harry never wanted anyone to worry about him, although, he cared and worried deeply about everyone around him. A great American has moved on. Harry, I was blessed to be called your friend and honored to have known you. You will be missed and I take your lead and attempt to help other veterans as you did with me. Thanks again for being there with a listening ear and genuine concern for a fellow Soldier.
To Harry’s family: He was a great man and gentleman. His impact on my life and many others can never be replicated or even fully explained. It was ironic that the day Harry moved on was the day I had an appointment…an appointment that would have never happened if it wasn’t for Harry. God Bless you all.

We were both in the 4th Platoon in OCS and were later “house buddies” one time when both of us were assigned to Ft. Bragg. He was a good friend and fellow soldier.
